We depart from Johannesburg between 06:00 – 08:30 to allow for various collection points. Our route takes us through the wide open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. We stop for lunch en-route (own expense) and reach the Kruger National Park in the afternoon.
After settling in to our accommodations, you go out on your first game drive which is a SANParks Sunset Drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a Park’s ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
Dinner is a three course meal, served al fresco at our private camp within Pretoriuskop.
Included: Sunset safari
Meals: Dinner
Important Info:
We include complimentary pickups from O.R. Tambo International Airport at 08:00. If you are staying elsewhere an additional small cost to pick up will apply. Please ask your consultant for further details. We are able to pick you up from Nelspruit if you fly into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Pick up times are between 12:00 and 13:00. Arrange with your consultant if your flight arrives later than the scheduled pick up time. Extra charges will apply for late arrival
Day 2 – Kruger National Park
Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times), we have tea or coffee & rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink!) We then set off on the morning safari which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!
On returning to Pretoriuskop, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks or take a walk around the camp. Pretoriuskop is also a bird watcher’s paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars!
After a siesta we set off on the afternoon game drive. Afternoon drives depart in open 4×4 vehicles, in search of Africa’s wild animals that roam the Kruger National Park in their natural habitat. About 3 hours gives us enough time to allow our guests ample opportunity to see Kruger’s wildlife. Guides are knowledgeable and passionately convey their knowledge of the Kruger to guests.
We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
Included: Morning and afternoon safaris
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Important Info:
There is a restaurant at Pretoriuskop where you can enjoy lunch.
Optional Extras available on Day 2 for this Safari:
Morning Walk – A walk in the Kruger Park affords you the opportunity to experience the bush from a totally different perspective. You really do get up close and personal with Africa’s wild animals, insects, trees and birds. Qualified trail guides take you on a 3-hour walk where there is chance you could come across Africa’s Big 5 on foot. Please be advised however, the focus is not on Big 5 encounters, but rather smaller and often very interesting aspects of the bush that only a walk can offer. This activity is available at an additional ZAR 570.00 per person and needs to be pre-booked with your consultant when you confirm your safari with us. This activity is dependent on availability.
Panorama Route – Our full day Panorama Route tour covers the best sights of this famous South African sightseeing route. We will include Blyde River Canyon, the spectacular Lisbon, Berlin, and Mac Mac Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels, the astonishing God’s Window and the picturesque gold rush town of Pilgrim’s Rest, a historic living museum.. This tour is available at an additional cost of ZAR 795.00 per person and needs to be pre-booked with your consultant when you confirm your safari with us. If you choose to do the Panorama Route, you forfeit your morning and afternoon drive in the Kruger Park as there is not enough time to include both activities. You cannot book a Panorama Route tour whilst on safari. (Kindly note that this excursion is not available on the first or last day of your safari due to time constraints). All entry fees and the glass elevator are included in the price. Lunch is excluded.
Please note that optional extras that are pre-booked are non-refundable in the event that you decide to no longer participate in the activity.
Day 3 – Kruger Park to Gauteng
The sun rises over our final day in the Park and we have one last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far. After breakfast we return to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.
Included: Morning Safari
Meals: Breakfast
Important Info:
If you want to fly out of Nelspruit and not travel all the way back to Johannesburg with us, we can drop you off at the airport between 12:30 and 13:30. For transfers out of these scheduled times, consult with your consultant. Extra charges may apply.
We will stop over in one of the towns on our way back to Johannesburg and afford you the opportunity to enjoy lunch and a cup of coffee.

Please note that sunset game drive times are subject to change and availability on the day. These drives are conducted by SAN Parks, by one of their rangers and in one of their vehicles. There will most likely be other guests on this drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SAN Parks open game drive vehicles.
Although we welcome children on our safaris, we reserve the right not to allow younger children on our normal game drives. This will be entirely up to the guide’s discretion and will be in order to ensure a pleasurable game drive for all our guests (including the parents). We do not offer babysitting and as such one of the parents will have to stay behind to watch the children. Private game drives for families can be arranged at an extra charge.
Guests flying out of OR Tambo Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Johannesburg on the last day we will not be held responsible for reimbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance at an extra charge.
