Itinerary

day 1: enchanted beginnings

After a safari briefing in the morning, you will journey southwest towards the magnificent Tarangire National Park. This park, with its diverse landscapes ranging from swamps to towering baobab trees, is regarded as one of the most beautiful parks in northern Tanzania. Witness herds of up to 600 elephants, along with wildebeests, Masai giraffes, buffaloes, and zebras. Enjoy an extensive game drive throughout the day before traveling to your tented camp for an overnight stay. Welcome to your unforgettable Tanzania and Kenya safari!

  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner

day 2: avian wonders and highlands

After breakfast, travel from the Tarangire Area to the lush Lake Manyara National Park. Famous for its over 400 bird species, primate-filled forests, and grassy plains, the park’s centerpiece is the alkaline Lake Manyara, a seasonal breeding ground for flamingos and myriad waterfowls. Spot giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas, and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons. After an extensive game drive, head to Karatu in the Ngorongoro highlands. Upon arrival, you may have time for an optional walk through coffee plantations to learn about coffee production. Overnight at one of the beautifully located adventure lodge.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 3: crater wonders to endless plains

Rise and shine! After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim and descend the steep, adventurous trail into the caldera. Within this unique ecosystem, spot a wide range of wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – alongside wildebeests, gazelles, and mountain reedbucks. The crater is also one of the best places to see the nearly extinct black rhino. Enjoy a morning game drive and picnic lunch before traveling to the Serengeti, home of the world’s largest animal migration. Tonight, stay at a tented camp in the central Serengeti, amidst the spectacular wilderness.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 4: serengeti splendor

At sunrise, embark on an early morning game drive before returning to a hearty breakfast. For the adventurous, experience the Serengeti from above with a hot air balloon ride, followed by a champagne breakfast (optional, advance booking required). Visit the visitor center, and enjoy another game drive in the afternoon. Return to your tented camp to spend another night under the stars in this iconic park.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 5: from savannah to shores

After an early start, continue your journey through the Serengeti National Park, seeking out any wildlife you may have missed, including the elusive African wild dog. The Serengeti, home to the “Big Five,” offers endless wildlife viewing opportunities. Leaving the park, travel to Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake and the second largest in the world. This fertile and densely populated region of Tanzania offers a glimpse into local life. Walk along the lake shore and watch fishermen at work, providing a unique and authentic experience away from typical tourist routes.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 6: waterside wonders

After breakfast, join local fishermen and a guide on a canoe trip on Lake Victoria, observing traditional fishing methods and the previous night’s catch. Then embark on the longest journey of your safari to the Masai Mara. This adventurous route will lead you to a reserve reputed for having Africa’s highest lion population. Large cats can be spotted year-round, unaffected by seasonal migrations. Overnight in safari tents on the reserve’s outskirts, ready for the Mara’s wonders.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 7: into the wild

Today is dedicated to exploring the Masai Mara Game Reserve. On extensive game drives in your 4×4 safari vehicle, discover the Mara Triangle’s vast grasslands and acacia forests. Visit the Mara River, the greatest hurdle for migrating wildebeests and zebras. During October and November, witness the dramatic river crossing, where crocodiles lie in wait. Throughout the year, see hippos and crocodiles near the river. Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon as shadows lengthen over the savannah.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

days 8-9: endless adventures

Spend the next two days on game drives in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. With ample time, enjoy the thrill of seeking out the Big Five and other unique animals like Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, elands, Coke’s hartebeests, Masai giraffe, roan antelope, and the nocturnal bat-eared fox. The reserve boasts over 470 bird species, including about 60 raptor species. These magical days promise unforgettable wildlife encounters. Spend two nights within the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 10: urban departure

After breakfast, leave the wilds of the Masai Mara for Nairobi, Kenya’s bustling capital. Arrive in the late afternoon and depending on your travel plans, be taken to your hotel in the city center or directly to the airport, concluding your incredible safari adventure.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
