Itinerary

day 1: into the elephant realm

After a short morning briefing, embark on your journey to Tarangire National Park. This park, with its endless tree savannah, impressive baobab trees, and seasonal marshes, is home to the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania. Besides elephants, you’ll likely spot giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and various antelopes and gazelles. Upon arrival, your guide will open the vehicle’s roof for optimal wildlife viewing. Enjoy lunch at a picturesque picnic spot, and in the afternoon, continue exploring this breathtaking park. Arrive at your lodge, located just outside the park, in the late afternoon for your overnight stay.

  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner

day 2: journey through the rift

After breakfast, depart towards the Rift Valley, passing through MtowaMbu and Karatu in the cooler regions of the crater highlands. Enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop briefly to enjoy the spectacular views of the crater. Continue your journey around the crater, descending the other side on a bumpy road, passing Maasai villages on your way to Serengeti National Park. At Naabi Hill entrance gate, walk to a viewpoint for stunning views across the Serengeti plains. Proceed to the Seronera Area, rich in wildlife including the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. Arrive at your secluded camp in the heart of the bush in the late afternoon, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking starry nights.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 3: witness the great migration

After breakfast, spend the entire day game driving in the Serengeti National Park, with lunch at a scenic picnic spot. Depending on the time of year, you might witness the great migration, with hundreds of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and Thompson gazelles traversing the plains. During the small rainy season in October and November, these herds move from the Kenyan Masai Mara through the northwest Serengeti to the southern plains. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June, the herds travel back through the western and north-western Serengeti. Rainfall fluctuations can alter migration timings and routes, but your guide will ensure you have the best wildlife viewing opportunities, potentially even witnessing a predator in action.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 4: crater of wonders

Start early after breakfast, leaving the Seronera Valley behind as you journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Cooler morning hours may offer sightings of active predators. Enjoy lunch en-route at a designated picnic spot. Upon reaching the crater’s edge, the stunning 19-kilometre diameter caldera unfolds before you as you descend on an adventurous trail. This World Heritage Site hosts over 25,000 animals seasonally, including the Big Five, various bird species, and hyenas. After an extensive game drive, exit the crater via a different ascent road and drive to Karatu in the Ngorongoro highlands, where you’ll stay overnight at a beautifully located adventure lodge.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
