Itinerary

day 1: into the wild – windhoek to etosha

Your journey for this 6 days dunes and wildlife tour begins with a 07:15 pickup from your Windhoek accommodation, followed by a brief pre-departure meeting. Heading north, we stop in Otjiwarongo for supplies and enjoy a light lunch on the move.

Entering Etosha National Park, we embark on a game drive to our overnight camp. Etosha spans over 22,000 square kilometers, home to 114 mammal species, 350 bird species, and 110 reptile species. We’ll visit various waterholes, hoping to spot a variety of wildlife.

As night falls, visit the floodlit waterhole near our camp for a chance to see elephants and black rhinos in their nocturnal activities.

day 2: dawn’s embrace – etosha exploration

We start early to catch the park’s wildlife at its most active. After breakfast, we head out again, exploring Etosha’s numerous waterholes. Highlights include the vast Etosha Pan, a 4,700 square kilometer expanse visible from space.

Exiting Etosha at Anderson Gate by sunset, we reach our comfortable lodge nearby. Relax in your twin room with en-suite facilities and enjoy a fantastic dinner.

day 3: desert dreams – etosha to swakopmund

After breakfast, we depart at 07:30 for the Skeleton Coast, traveling through scenic Damaraland. This region is known for its striking landscapes and towering pink granite koppies. We’ll meet local Himba, Herero, and Damara people selling handcrafted souvenirs.

We stop for a picnic lunch under Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg, before reaching the chilly Atlantic Ocean and the Skeleton Coast. A visit to the 2008 shipwreck of The Zeila offers a perfect photo opportunity.

Arriving in Swakopmund, your guide will drop you off at your accommodation. This town, with its mix of colonial architecture and desert charm, boasts excellent restaurants and activities. Your guide on this 6 day dunes and wildlife tour can help with recommendations and bookings.

day 4: coastal charm – swakopmund to sesriem

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Swakopmund, exploring on foot or engaging in optional activities like quad biking and sandboarding. Departing at 11:30, we head east into the desert, crossing the Namib gravel plains and traversing the Kuiseb and Gaub passes.

We stop at the Tropic of Capricorn for photos before continuing to our lodge. Relax in twin rooms with en-suite facilities.

day 5: dune awakening – sossusvlei

A pre-dawn start ensures we reach the dunes at sunrise. Explore the towering sand dunes, capturing their glowing orange and red hues. We drive through the Tsauchab River bed to Sossusvlei and visit Dead Vlei, known for its ancient, skeletal camelthorn trees.

Climb one of the highest dunes in the world, then stop at Dune 45 for more exploration or relaxation. Visit Sesriem Canyon, carved by the Tsauchab River, before returning to our lodge.

day 6: farewell namibia – namib desert to windhoek

On our final day at this 6 day dunes and wildlife tour, we head back to Windhoek, stopping in Solitaire for its famous apple pie. Enjoy beautiful mountain scenery as we cross Namibia’s central plateau. Arrive in Windhoek mid-afternoon, with drop-offs at an specific point or your chosen accommodation.

For those flying out, a transfer to the airport can be arranged. We recommend booking flights departing after 19:00 to account for any delays.
